11-day trip from San Diego to Cabo San Lucas with a 2 day stay in San Ignacio Lagoon and island hopping in the Sea of Cortez.

On our way to San Ignacio Lagoon we will stop at San Benito Island. During our hike we can observe the big elephant seals, Guadalupe fur seals and a variety of sea and shore birds. There are numerous osprey nesting sites on the island. In San Ignacio Lagoon we will observe the Grey whales at close range. The whales sometimes approach the skiffs to interact with our passengers. During our southbound journey towards the Cape and the Sea of Cortez we will be looking for the first Blue and Humpback whales and superpods of dolphins. The days in the Sea of Cortez are truly magic: Daily encounters with large schools of dolphins are a special treat. We will be searching for Blue, Fin, Humpback, Sperm, Pilot and Killer whales. A highlight is snorkeling with curious sea lions. We will visit different islands with opportunities for bird watching, beach combing, hiking, swimming or snorkeling and skiff excursions. Our transition from temperate to tropical waters makes this an extraordinarly rich and varied expedition.

About our skippers and naturalist guides

The crew is led by Mike Keating, the owner and operator with over 25 years of experience in the waters of Baja California or Brian Evans with over 20 years of experience, his first mate, 3 licensed skiff operators, the chef and assistant. Two experienced naturalist guides accompany every trip.
