Walvis Bay is a unique area along the Namibian coast, which provides habitat for bottlenose and Heaviside's dolphins year-round, and is seasonally visited by humpback whales, southern right whales and ocean sunfish. We also have occasional visitors such as dusky dolphins and leatherback turtles. Kayaking in the calm waters of the bay is the perfect way to observe and enjoy these unique species, without disturbing them. Heaviside's dolphins are a highlight for many visitors - this small and beautiful dolphin is only found within the Benguela Current system, between South Africa and southern Angola, and Walvis Bay provides one of the best opportunities to watch them play and feed.
A peaceful haven for marine creatures, Walvis Bay is a precious gem framed by desert and sea - a memory to cherish for a lifetime!

Other wildlife and points of interest
The bird life at Pelican Point is also outstanding. We regularly see flamingos, great white pelicans, several species of cormorants, and numerous wading birds on the way to the Point. Black-backed jackals are also regularly sighted amongst the dunes on the way to our kayak launch site.
