Route of Bays | Whale & Dolphin Watching

The Experience

This tour takes our guests on a scenic tour of False Bay by sea. Highlights include Seal Island, Kalk Bay, Cape Point and the Whales we may encounter along the way. The tour starts and an end in Gordon’s Bay and is done aboard a luxury deep sea fishing cruiser with bathroom facilities. We drag lures during the tour and if we are lucky we snare a fish or two. Lots of excitement!

Itinerary

We pick up guests from any hotel in Cape Town at 8am and proceed to Harbour Island Marina in Gordon's Bay. Guests are given a short safety briefing and are issued with life preservers. We depart Harbour Island at 10am. following the coast of False bay in a counter clockwise manner to Seal Island. We spend time watching the seals and maybe we see a Great White Shark. Along the way we could encounter several species of marine mammals including:

Right Whales (July to November)

Hump Back Whales (July to November)

Orcas ( July and August)

Cape Fur Seals

Haveside Dolphins

Bryde's Whales

Common Dolphins

any many more......

After Seal Island we go to Kalk Bay. We disembark for lunch and some sight seeing. Hereafter we follow the coast to Simons Town, Smitswinkel Bay and Cape Point. We will approach Cape Point from the sea side and our guests will have photo opportunities that land bound visitors not get.

After Cape Point we dash across False Bay toward Gordon's Bay. This is the stretch where we are most likely to encounter whales.

The tour end in Gordon's Bay and it includes transport back to Cape Town.
