Mission: The Marine Biology Association of Guatemala is a non-profit organization bringing people together that are interested in marine biology and related sciences to increase the conservation efforts coastal ecosystems, marine life and marine resources in Guatemala. ABIMA promotes literary and practical learning of marine sciences, the importance of protecting the coastal marine heritage in Guatemala. ABIMA was created because of the need to advance all marine sciences in the country. Vision: ABIMA as a scientific authority seeks the advancement of scientific research of coastal marine life in Guatemala, and will be an indispensable tool in the development of marine sciences bringing the country of Guatemala to be recognized worldwide in the field of marine biology. ABIMA will voice the welfare of coastal communities in Guatemala and implement sustainable development. ABIMA collaborates with national and international institutions for the conservation of marine life at a national level and worldwide.
